The KB intends to contribute to the ongoing transformation towards open bibliometric data allowing for more transparency and participation in bibliometric research and contract work. But open bibliometric datasources require substantial data checks, cleaning and ongoing curation probably in a decentralised manner. In this blog, we describe our pathway towards a quality assessed and reliable open bibliometric database. You will find reports on new possibilities, but also shortcomings and pitfalls of the different datasources, comparative analyses, or reports on our curation procedures to improve data quality of open sources with a special focus on research coming out of Germany.
